Daylight Lodge? Traditionally Freemasons Lodges meet in the evening, there are some who meet during the day and on a Saturday but most will meet late afternoon or evening. There are some staff Lodges of our great Institution which meet in the morning and lunch afterwards. This format evolved because most of the Masonic staff are committed to evenings and find it difficult to hold a Lodge meeting in the evening.

The Founders of New Morning Lodge felt this formula could prove to be one that could benefit brethren in other walks of life. With the ever increasing demand on round the clock working, both in service and commercial industries, a lodge that meets at an alternative time could fill a need. Some brethren who have retired from their full time profession may feel it is more convenient to come to town during the day rather to have to travel late at night. A Lodge that meets when the sun is at its meridian would give the members the opportunity to invite friends from distant parts of the country, who would not otherwise be able to attend a meeting in the evening, without an overnight stay.

New Morning Lodge meets four times a year February, April, October and December. Our meetings are in London at Mark Masons Hall, St James' starting at 11am followed by a lunch which we call a Festive Board, normally around 1.30pm. Members and their guests can travel to London and arrive relaxed, enjoy a good meeting before returning home in the afternoon.

New Morning has members spread throughout the country and even abroad, this is what makes New Morning such an interesting and diverse lodge.

New Morning Lodge was founded in 1987 by sixteen experienced Masons with a view to establishing a lodge with high standards, energy and enthusiasm. Sadly only a few founders remain today but the high standards continue.

Today a new group of enthusiastic members ensure that the Lodge is run to the same exacting standards set in the past by our founders. New Morning Lodge continues to attract more and more members from around the country of all different backgrounds.

The Lodge now meets on the second Wednesdays in February, April, October and December (installation) at Mark Masons’ Hall St Jamses London at 11am followed by a Festive Board drinks and wines. The December Festive Board is always well attended, we also have a Christmas special with carols.
